Post-Referendum Planning Today in West Salem

Fallout from a failed referendum in West Salem today.  The village board’s finance committee meets to hammer out plans for next year’s budget without the hoped-for property tax revenue increase that the referendum would have provided.  Village administrator Theresa Schnitzler says service cuts should be expected and there won’t be much work on infrastructure, like streets

The most noticeable cut, says Shnitzler, will likely be to overtime budgets for streets crews.  Meaning some snowy streets might not get plowed right away this winter.
