Formal charges could be filed in La Crosse County court today against the man accused of hijacking a taxi in Platteville last week, and allegedly killing the taxi’s owner.

Timmy Johnson Junior is still being held in the La Crosse jail on half-a-million dollars bond.  Johnson crashed the stolen cab after a police chase from La Crosse to Holmen on Friday the 13th.  Cab driver Merle Forbes was found injured, apparently stabbed, in the car’s trunk and he was declared dead at the crash scene.  A Platteville funeral home is still making arrangements for the Forbes funeral.
