TIF Moving Forward in La Crosse
Still some concerns expressed by the La Crosse city council, but a new TIF district has been given preliminary approval. The new taxing district will mean the city can borrow millions of dollars to do infrastructure improvements at the site of the old TRane Plant 6 as well as in the surrounding neighborhood. The centerpiece is the site of the former TRane plant where developers have already expressed interest in building projects that could include some housing and commercial development. The borrowing will be paid off with additional taxes from increased property value.
