Houston County Schools Enjoy Day Off

Frigid temperatures predicted for today led Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton,

Friday, to cancel public school classes statewide for the first time since 1997. Superintendent Charles Rick says residents of Houston County will still know about the closings even if they did not hear it through the weekend.

Rick agreed with Dayton, saying cold temperatures are predicted to cover the entire region, so closing schools statewide makes sense.
