Eagle Scout Helps Bring New Changes To Old Lax Cemetery

New fencing, a new sign, and repaired grave markers…

The cemetery behind Hillview Care Center in La Crosse is newly improved, with many of the changes brought about by a high school student. Eagle Scout Reed Johnson worked for a year, along with other members of Scout Troop 22, to improve the cemetery that has been used more than a century. Reed was eager to replace a worn-out sign board which had printed lists of names, but no map.  The new permanent sign was produced by Sign Pro.  Hillview is recommending that any more people who wish to be buried at the cemetery choose cremation instead, and have their ashes placed in a new ‘scatter garden’ on the site.
