Riverfest wraps up successful 2025 festival

Although Riverfest officially ended on Saturday night, Riverside Park was a busy place on Sunday morning as dozens of volunteers worked to clean up after the festival.

Rows of picnic tables are ready to move out on Sunday, July 6 after Riverfest.

Riverfest President DJ Olbrys said they began work in the park about 6 a.m. and should have all the tents, tables, and trailers out of the park by late afternoon.

Riverfest wouldn’t be possible without the volunteers, he said.

“We have hundreds of volunteers that come down and help set it up. It takes about four to five days for set up and then one day just to tear it all down. Without them, we couldn’t have Riverfest,” Olbrys said.

The weather was a concern, he said, but it didn’t stop people from coming down to the park. “We thought it would, but it didn’t. It was nice to have some sunny days…so, they wanted to come out and party.”

He cited how a large crowd turned out to see Boogie and the Yo-Youz on Saturday night despite the rain.

Olbrys said the dates for next year’s Riverfest celebration are already set.

In 2026, Riverfest goes from Wednesday, July 1 through Saturday, July 4.

The banner for Riverfest flies over the entrance to Riverside Park.

My wife and I went down Friday morning since they were suppose to have something to have for the Veterans only to find out it was a misprint. A very egregious misprint. We hung around and spent time in the food stage tent listening to some band that should never be; watching individuals have one beer after another in 100 degree heat; beer dehydrate’s you quickly. There were also three babies there for over an hour in the heat. I have no idea why since that is dangerous.
HyVee ran out of food by 9 AM on Wednesday morning and I am not goofing to repeat what I was told by a Commodore- suffice to say it would not be well received.
People were smoking and vaping inside the park which is prohibited. I am not sure how this is labled a success
