UPDATE: Retesting opens up Airport Beach for swimming, removes warnings from two others

The La Crosse County Health Department said that they retested three beaches on Thursday after they were posted earlier in the week.
All three now have counts below warning levels.
Airport Beach, which was closed to swimming, is now available for use again by the public.
Two other beaches-Bluebird Springs Campground and Black River Beach-that received warning signs, were also found to be safe once again for swimming.
When tested earlier this week, the remaining five beaches in La Crosse County all had counts below warning levels.
PREVIOUS STORY
The La Crosse County Health Department said Tuesday that Airport Beach is closed to swimming due to high E. coli counts in the water.
Two others, Bluebird Springs Campground and Black River Beach, have warning signs posted due to higher numbers.
Testing is done weekly at eight beaches in the county by the department.
Samples for this week’s report were collected on Monday.
The county posts warning signs if levels are at 236 parts per 100 milliliters to 1,000 parts.
When the count exceeds 1,000, beaches are closed.
In the case of Airport Beach, it had a count of 1,180.
The count at Bluebird Springs Campground was 600, while Black River Beach reported 250.
The five remaining beaches had counts below warning levels.

Picking up dog crap goes a long way. Especially at airport beach where dogs just go all over the place without being picked up. Its disgusting.

Maybe if the useless DNR would do something about farm and chemical run-off people could actually go in the water.
