As I See It
Saying Thank You

In Dresbach on Monday, two strangers ended up saving a life.
I’m thinking of a couple, Brittany and Dustin, from Massachusetts who saw a pickup truck go down a hill and into the Mississippi River at the Dresbach rest area.
While she called 9-1-1, he ran down the hill, got into the water, and rescued the driver who was having a medical emergency.
Dustin got the man to shore no doubt saving his life.
It is heartening to see those two people step up and do what they did. They will always deserve as many thank you’s as we can give them.
Speaking of thank you’s, I heard that phrase a lot on Sunday at a reunion of veterans from the May Freedom Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.
Veterans who spoke to the crowd, or the ones I talked to afterwards, were thankful for the opportunity to go. They, or their family members, said many thank you’s to the people that organize the Freedom Honor Flights.
To which I agree: Thank you to everyone who gives their time and energy to the veterans.
And to the veterans, for whom saying thank you for your service means a great deal to many of them.
Thank you for listening.
As I see it, I’m Kevin Millard
