Holmen Police investigating death of man

An investigation is ongoing regarding the death of a man found at a residence in Holmen Sunday morning.

Few details are being released at this time.

In a statement, Holmen Police Chief Shane Collins said officers went to 815 Granum Street at 5:39 a.m. for a report of an unresponsive man.

The residence is located on the east side of Holmen.

The officers found the man dead.

A number of agencies are taking part in the investigation. In the statement from Chief Collins, it said that the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office, Onalaska Police, La Crosse County District Attorney’s Office, La Crosse County Medical Examiner’s Office, Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Wisconsin State Crime Laboratory are involved in the case.

Chief Collins said there’s no known threat to public safety.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available according to the chief.
