Sen. Baldwin charges many in Wisconsin could lose Medicaid under proposed budget cuts

Efforts to avoid Medicaid cuts in the U.S. have taken many forms, including a computerized lobbying campaign before a recent Moon Tunes show in La Crosse’s Riverside Park. And lawmakers are continuing to go to the public with their concerns about a Medicaid reduction bill.

U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisconsin) argued that Republicans think the public won’t see how the GOP budget bill will affect them.

“They thought they could get away with short-changing working families, without anyone noticing,” Baldwin said, “but it’s hard not to notice kicking 16 million people off of health care, or ripping away food assistance from 3.2 million Americans.”

Baldwin has been warning for weeks that a budget bill could cut large amounts of Medicaid funding, and Wisconsin could be hit hard.

“In the Badger State, it will take health care away from over 250,000 Wisconsinites,” she said. “That is like terminating care from the population of Green Bay, La Crosse, Waukesha, and Wausau combined.”

Baldwin added that the motive for the bill appears to be to provide large tax breaks for corporations and wealthy individuals.

Ahead of this past weekend’s late-night Senate vote, Baldwin had an online program Friday to urge Wisconsin voters to speak their opposition to these cuts in Medicaid and health insurance.

Baldwin also joined WIZM’s La Crosse Talk and discussed the budget cuts proposal.

Good grief, can’t this women figure out it is time to retire. Baldwin sounds like a broken record complaining yet has never offered a single solution to any issue. No one cares what Tammy Baldwin thinks.

Let her retire and give her a Planed Parenthood board seat where she can get paid twice her current salary and everyone will be happy.

Are not any proposed Medicare cuts intended to affect able-bodied individuals who should get a job?

The sky is falling; the sky is falling.
Tammy Baldwin is the “King” of what could happen.
Instead of crying wolf all the time, put some time and energy into how to make things better.
It’s always easy to complain but more of a challenge to come up with solutions.
How does she believe we should save money and eliminate fraud in the Medicare System?
