Machete used in Arcadia fight; four taken to hospital

A person is arrested after was using a machete during a large fight early Sunday morning in Arcadia.

Police Chief Nic Scholl said just after 1 a.m., several 9-1-1 calls came in about a fight involving 20-30 people at Memorial Park Pavilion. During one of the calls, the person said that one of the people in the fight had a machete.

When officers arrived, they found several people with injuries. Four of them went by ambulance to Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall with non-life-threatening injuries.

Later that morning at around 10:35 a.m., the suspect who used the machete was arrested and taken to the Trempealeau County Jail.

The release from Chief Scholl said that the names of the people involved aren’t being released at this time.

The incident remains under active investigation.

Additional updates will be released as they become available, the release said.
