Habitat La Crosse’s Kahya Fox on reclaiming Mayo hospital, recapping Housing Week and ReNewing the north side

Kahya Fox, executive director for Habitat for Humanity of the Greater La Crosse Region, in studio for La Crosse Talk recapping committee week, going through the old Mayo St. Anne’s building and a look at ReNew the Block on La Crosse’s north side.
La Crosse Talk airs weekdays at 6-8 a.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). Find all the podcasts here or subscribe to La Crosse Talk wherever you get your podcasts.
Fox talks about how Habitat was invited to go through the old Mayo hospital, much like it did a few weeks ago trying to preserve some of the Pink Palace on Main Street, before it was demolished.
We also recapped the first ever Housing Week, hosted by Habitat, which put together 13 different events looking at different issues in that realm.
And we hit on ReNew the Block by Logan Middle School. This two-year project has seen a new mural painted, a pollinator garden created and updates on multiple houses, along with transforming the school grounds.
