Sunken SUV, boat trailer recovered in La Crescent

The La Crescent Police Department said an SUV and boat trailer that accidentally ended up completely submerged at a boat landing are now removed from the water.

Earlier this week, the vehicle and trailer went into the West Channel of the Mississippi River at La Crescent’s Sportsman’s Landing.

As a precaution, police closed the boat ramp until they both could be recovered.

That happened on Saturday when a large tow truck arrived at the landing, and with the help of a diver to attach a line to the vehicle, safely got both out of the water.

No one was hurt when the vehicle originally went into the water according to police.
