Saturday’s ride for the Big River Rally was a trip through the Wisconsin countryside to the home of S&S Cycle.

The company makes parts for motorcycles-everything from engines to carburetors to exhausts.

More than 350 riders left the southside Oktoberfest Grounds on Saturday morning to go to S&S’s factory located just outside Viola.

One of those riders was Brad Lehmkuhl. He’s had S&S parts on the motorcycles he’s had over the years, so thought he’d make the trip. He liked what he saw.

It’s pretty nice. A lot of bikes-the manufacturing process is really interesting. It’s a heck of a store in there. It’s pretty nice. I really like all of them old bikes in there, too, “Lehmkuhl said.

He said he also enjoyed the company of like-minded people who enjoy motorcycles and riding.

Lehmkuhl said he was impressed with the scenery while riding to Viola.

Having just moved back to Iowa from Colorado, where he enjoyed rallies out there, when he found the notice for the Big River Rally, he thought he’d take part.
