As I See It

In the movie A Christmas Story, the main character Ralphie was helping his dad change a tire when he accidentally dropped all the lug nuts in the snow. He then said, “the queen mother of all swear words”. In the movie, the word fudge, but we all knew what he meant.

It was also creative on the part of whoever overdubbed Bruce Willis’ character’s voice in one of the Die Hard movies. Yippie-Ki-Yay, Mr. Falcon. That’s what you heard on network TV, instead of, well, again, you know what was said if you saw the movie in the theater.

Now apparently, it is acceptable to use the word in public. It is one thing in a movie but quite another to hear the President, who appeared frustrated at the time with both Israel and Iran, use it while responding to a reporter’s question. His remarks at the time were carried live by some networks, so you know what was said.

I was taught that if you use expletives to make your point, you’ve lost the argument. Having lost a few myself that way, I try to be better these days in what I say. Then again, I’m not a world leader, just a journalist.

I wonder which one tastes better, Ivory or Irish Spring soap.

When was it declared acceptable to use F-bombs in public? And by whom?

It’s commonly used by inconsiderate oafs who are the typical self-centered slobs of today’s society who still dress like the Covid epidemic, wear pajamas to WalMart, have slovenly beards and hair, tattoos all over their God-given bodies, nails in their nose and stink to high heaven. Follow that crowd and see where it leads.

Wherer was Millard’s criticism a month ago when the Democrat Senators and Congressman were utilizing the “F bomb” on a regular and scripted basis?

    He was silent, of course.
