As I See It

A person commented on one of our social media posts about Sunday’s protest of the Trump administration bombing nuclear sites in Iran and whether it was newsworthy to cover the event.

I appreciate the question. It was worthy of coverage. Here’s why:

Our job is to inform you about what’s happening in our community, to provide viewpoints from different sides of the issue. As we already had coverage from the administration, it was correct to get the view of those on the opposite side. This was a very local event that provided that perspective.

As a news operation, once we gather information and viewpoints, make sure what we have is accurate, we provide it to you in an objective manner.

You then have the choice to look or listen to what we offer.

You may or may not like what you read when it comes to those viewpoints.

You can even make a comment on it.

But you can’t say you didn’t know about it.

As I see it, I’m Kevin Millard

Kevin, October 2020 Brad from WIZM news reported the attendance at the West Salem Trump Rally at a few hundred! The actual number was closer to 7000 as reported by WXOW AND WKBT. Was that accurate and objective manner from WIZM news?

Is Millard gaslighting? Generally, reading WIZM articles leave the reader as uninformed as ever…developers pandering for taxpayer funds are never identified, what local government reps voted for the latest giveaway of taxpayer dollars are never named, alternatives never probed, for-profit companies in La Crosse are completely ignored as if they don’t exist, the sad state of dismal and expensive public education is not questioned, insert photos of Pfaff and Evers whenever possible.

Regarding political happenings, WIZM doesn’t provide news, it provides collaboration and cheerleading for all things Dem and Progressive. It certainly appears WIZM “curates” its news-service articles to print only those that toe the party line.
