Heavy rain causes La Crosse street flooding

Heavy rain late Tuesday morning caused flooding along a number of streets in La Crosse.
Portions of Cass Street, Front Street, and West Avenue were among those covered by up to a foot of water. State Street at 17th Street also experienced flooding according to a viewer.
A couple of vehicles were stranded in the flooding on Cass Street by Weigent Park.
The owner of at least one vehicle parked on Front Street reported having several inches of water inside their vehicle.
Vehicles pushed a wall of water as drivers tried to move to higher ground.

Yep and these people keep driving through the flooded streets.
What is the saying from the DOT: “Turn Around, Don’t Drown”?
Perhaps the $120 a year raise in our property taxes will cure this problem.

Good think our storm sewer taxes went up…this ought to be fixed in about 20years, or when the skies and seas dry up, which ever come first 😳

This event is a classic example of back up of sewers and drains.
This is not flood and insurance will cover it if your insurance company provides the coverage.
Most companies provide a nominal amount that can be increased.
