Semi is destroyed in fire at truck stop

A fire late Monday morning in Tomah turns a semi into a pile of smoldering metal.

The Tomah Fire Department got called to the Kwik Trip parking lot just before 11:30 a.m. for a report of a semi on fire.

The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived according to Public Safety Director Tim Adler.

Crews put the fire out although the semi was a total loss.

Its driver, who was inside the store at the time the fire began, wasn’t injured.

No other injuries were reported.

An investigation into what caused the fire is underway.
