La Crosse protesters come out against Iranian bombing

Published

on

About two dozen protesters came to downtown La Crosse late Sunday afternoon to express their concerns about President Trump’s ordering the bombing of nuclear sites in Iran.

The hour-long protest happened at the corner of 4th and King Street by Cameron Park. Supporters of the protest honked horns as they drove by. One person drove by yelling their objections to the actions of the protestors.

Tasha Lewis, a volunteer event organizer for the Driftless Rebellion, said that the Trump administration isn’t following the checks and balances outlined in the constitution with these actions.

“I think the biggest thing is that this could possibly lead to World War III. I don’t think any of us out here today want to see that,” she said.

Lewis said she believes the president should be prosecuted and impeached, “because this is ridiculous”.

“I think more negotiations for sure would be really helpful, Lewis said when asked what she’d like to see as an alternative. “I don’t think that it’s OK for him to just decide, ‘OK, well, I’m going to bomb this country’. What’s next, is he going to start bombing us? He doesn’t have the authority to do that. That’s why those constitutional checks and balances are in place is to protect us and other people from that type of an administration,” Lewis said.

(AP) – The U.S. military’s strike on three sites in Iran has raised urgent questions about what remains of Tehran’s nuclear program and how its weakened military might respond. U.S. and Israeli officials say American stealth bombers and a 30,000-pound bunker buster bomb they alone can carry offered the best chance of destroying heavily fortified sites connected to the Iranian nuclear program buried deep underground. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the U.S. strikes overnight have blown up any possibility of diplomacy with the Americans or Europeans.

Why is WIZM giving this Lewis woman all this exposure?

She obviously has an email list of like-minded leftists that she musters to get attention. There is real news to be had, elsewhere.

Ignore these people and watch them disappear

Bill, WIZM is on the same team as Lewis. WIZM’s job is to make sure Lewis doesn’t disappear.

Misguided, misinformed individuals who believe the misinformation fed them by propaganda site parading as news.
Trump is not the first President nor will be the last to do something like this.
By the way, you do not see Iranian protestors railing about their leaders.
They would rather be alive, just like Iran’s buddies Russia, China and North Vietnam.

I suppose they could have kept saying, please don’t build a nuclear weapon. That will make the world less safe.

I suppose they could have slapped sanctions on Iranian oil, but the United States geopolitical enemies and of course the EU, would have bought the oil anyway.

I suppose we could have just turned in Israel and joined with the raping, pillaging, baby killing Oct 7th groups.

Aye – I can see their point – negotiations would have been far more productive 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

President Trump has the same war powers as previous presidents. Did these protesters know the 542 drone strikes that Obama authorized killed an estimated 3,797 people, including 324 civilians. As he reportedly told senior aides in 2011: “Turns out I’m really good at killing people. Didn’t know that was gonna be a strong suit of mine.”

Imagine if you will that’s it autumn of 1941. President Roosevelt and his administration receive what they believe is credible evidence that the empire of Japan is preparing an attack on the Hawaiian islands. What do we do? Do we prepare a first strike on their fleet to head off the attack? “Oh no, we don’t want to do that! We don’t know how they’ll react! You can’t just attack them, that wouldn’t be justified! There’s no way the peace loving folks in Japan would EVER do that!” The 2,403 service persons who died on December 7th would probably disagree. Of course, history teaches us that we didn’t see it coming and so we weren’t ready for it. Now, Iran has chanted death to Israel, death to the America. Iran has a nuclear program that they claim is for peaceful purposes only. Do you really want to bank on that simply because you hate Donald Trump that much? I swear, he could solve world hunger tomorrow and many would blame him for not making sure everyone got filet mignon in the deal. A country with nuclear capabilities that clearly wants us gone doesn’t need a fleet of ships and planes to get the job done. Just one weapon is all it would take. Just one.

Thanks to these 2 dozen to state the obvious. We all think we do not want to go to war with Iran. Simple. However, the ball is in Iran’s court, isn’t it?
