As I See It
Joe Biden is still president and why A.I. is making us dumber

If we wanted another reason to put the breaks on letting A.I. take over the world, it’s apparently going to make us dumber, in the process.
I can’t say this one is a surprise.
While Republicans in our federal government want to ban states from merely regulating A.I. for a decade — and punishing states by withholding broadband funding if they do — the use of A.I. looks as though it’s having an affect on our ability to think.
An MIT study of 18- to 39-year-olds had 54 subjects write several SAT essays. Some used Google. Some used A.I. And some used just their heads.
The conclusion: The ChatGPT users had the lowest brain engagement and “consistently underperformed at neural, linguistic, and behavioral levels.”
And, over several months, those people got lazier after each essay.
Speaking like someone after months of only A.I. use: DUH.
I argued with ChatGPT the other day for 10 minutes over who was president of the U.S. And, no, I wasn’t denying Trump was supreme leader here.

And this argument probably made me dumber but I had to understand why A.I. thought what it thought so I kept going, until I ran out of free use.
But if you’re trying to learn or pass off information you have little knowledge about, don’t depend on A.I. to get you to the finish line. You might come across arguing that Joe Biden is still in power.
As I see it, I’m Rick Solem.

Seems about right… That’s why all these companies laying off staff for ‘AI’ just means ‘an Indian’

I had the same argument with ChatGPT yesterday July 1st. And when I tried explaining that it was giving false information, it just kept saying I’m sorry you feel that way, anything else? This seems to be done on purpose by a person or group.
