Sen. Baldwin calls Trump budget bill “betrayal” because of proposed cuts

The “big beautiful bill” promoted by the Trump White House to manage the national budget isn’t very beautiful to many Democrats, like Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin.

Baldwin says the Senate version of the proposal “floods the zone,” offering so many spending cuts and tax changes that it’s hard to keep them all straight. “Right now, the fight of our country relates to what Trump calls his ‘big beautiful bill,’ and what many of us call the big beautiful betrayal,” Baldwin tells WIZM News during a phone interview.

According to Baldwin, the current versions of the bill could increase the national debt by $3 trillion over the next 10 years. Also, 250,000 Wisconsin residents could lose their access to certain health care if the bill passes. The Senator claims Republicans are “championing this measure that gives tax breaks for the rich, increases our debt.” She calls it “Robin Hood in reverse.”

Baldwin says the public can fight the bill by focusing on real-life hardships in obtaining medical care, arguing that examples of families trying to afford care can be “powerful.”

Creating a work requirement for able bodied adults with no children is not a cut, its comon sense. The Big Beautiful bill doesn’t cut spending. It maintains the same $7 trillion budget that Democrats and President Biden put in place for fiscal 2025 which ends in October. Conservatives are unhappy that there are no cuts to spending because we will borrow $2 trillion to spend this much money.

Baldwin is such a joke. She complains under Trumps bill, the national debt will increase by 3 trillion dollars over ten years. But she applauded Biden’s budgets that raised the debt over 6 trillion in 4 years. And she has never raised objection to the 17 trillion dollars added to the debt during her 12 years in office. Baldwin speaks in generalities, not specifics about this bill, with one purpose. To try and divide this country by pitting one class against another so she can stay in power and hopefully restore her parties control of our government. Baldwin’s true complaint is that the debt will ONLY increase the debt by 3 trillion dollars. She and her ilk would celebrate 10 times that spending.

Wonderful to hear from you Bill Feehan. As I often do, I agree with you.

I listened to some of the interview, but could not bear it long. I found myself aggravated for two reasons:

    1. Tammy Baldwin’s ridiculous generalizations and spouting the usual Democrat talking points, which only serves to divide the country by pitting the red dynasty against the blue dynasty. 2. Solem’s interruptions and pattern of accepting everything any Democrat says without so much as a mild counterpoint. But were not here to talk about Solem.

Sen. Baldwin is wringing her hands unnecessarily. She does it to sew doubt, panic, and worry within her base. She never mentions the fact that the Medicare and Medicaid system is going broke. She never mentions the damage caused by low reimbursement rates paid by Medicare and Medicaid to providers. She never mentions how these low reimbursement rates lead to cost shifting. For those who don’t know, cost shifting occurs when medical providers charge significantly higher (above market) amounts to insurance companies and those who self-pay to make up for the below-market rates paid by Medicare and Medicaid. Because of cost shifting, every employer or individual who pays health insurance premium pays higher premiums because providers charge more to insurance because insurance is charged more to make up for the Medicare Medicaid low reimbursement rates. Low Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rates has multiple hidden consequences on the insurance industry which are subsequently passed down to consumers in the form of higher premiums, higher deductibles, and higher co-pays. That should aggravate you. Tammy Baldwin and all Democrats who spout this stuff probably don’t even know this and if they do know it they would never tell you because that would undermine their narrative. She is not really “helping us”. She and other like-minded politicians are causing harm by driving up the cost of healthcare by failing to address low reimbursement rates. Even with the low reimbursement rates, the Medicare and Medicaid system is going broke. Finally, I wish to point out that the so-called affordable care act was supposed to fix all this. People were supposed to get insurance and have less need for Medicare and Medicaid. But that did not happen as promised. It just added an additional layer to the healthcare reimbursement system. Taxpayers now subsidize persons with insurance under the affordable care act. Government involvement in the healthcare industry is leading to fewer and fewer people choosing careers in the healthcare profession. And that’s a major reason why it’s taking longer and longer to obtain an appointment. Tammy Baldwin refuses to address any of this. In short, there is no such thing as a free lunch.

Betrayal is having a poliician that is not concern about the fraud and abuse because that fraud and abuse is used to fund their campaign at the tax payers expense

Cleaning up Medicaid is evidently a betrayal to Baldwin.
