A hot weekend in store for the region, and not in a good way

The first taste of hot summer weather comes to the Coulee Region this weekend.
For the most part, we’ll have sunny weather into early next week, with a few chances of thunderstorms and rain possible according to the National Weather Service.
A warm front moves into the region bringing with it higher temperatures, humidity, and triple-digit heat index values.
The weather service on Wednesday forecast an Extreme Heat Watch in effect from Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening.
Forecasts call for heat index values between 95 and 105 in the afternoon.
The highest values are going to be south of I-94 and in river valleys.
The weather service suggests people drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned areas, and stay out of the sun. They also advise checking on relatives and neighbors.
