New look for Bridgeview Plaza

Published

Plans that go before a city committee later this week show a major makeover and additions of two new buildings in the space currently occupied by Bridgeview Plaza.

It is the only item on the agenda for Friday’s Commercial/Multi-Family Design Review Committee.

The owners of Bridgeview Plaza are the ones developing the site.

Preliminary renderings for the space would split the current structure into two buildings. On one end would be the Blue Zone Pickleball courts with Harbor Freight on the other.

In the middle is a five story, 101 unit building with 94 underground parking stalls.

Across from that building is another five story, 100-unit building with 95 underground parking stalls. Plans show this building next to Rose Street/Highway 53 where there’s currently parking.

In between the two new buildings is a courtyard and walkway area.

The remaining part of the mall would undergo a makeover for a modern look.

Additional commercial space is part of the development.

Knothe and Bruce Architects in Middleton created the designs and layouts of the buildings.

Tim Acklin, the Deputy Director of Planning and Development for the city said they’ll be discussing a timeline for the proposed project as well as infrastructure needs.
