While we spent one segment on the Black Friday of Onalaska rummage sales, the rest of Friday’s La Crosse Talk with UW-L political science professor, Dr. Anthony Chergosky, was almost exclusively on A.I. in government, in classrooms and in our everyday lives.

La Crosse Talk airs weekdays at 6-8 a.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). Find all the podcasts here or subscribe to La Crosse Talk wherever you get your podcasts.

The topics we delve into when it comes to A.I. included politicians using it to write legislation — and it becomes very obvious for one specific reason — La Crosse County using A.I. on 911 calls, courtrooms using it as interpreters and Republicans in Congress banning or punishing states that want to regulate A.I.

Lastly, when it comes to A.I. discussions, we finished the show with how Chergosky both handles and utilizes A.I. in his classroom and how A.I. detection tools are trash.

Before all that, though, what would you do if you saw a line forming outside your house for the garage sale you were about to have? That was the case in Onalaska last week, and Chergosky’s wife was one of those in line. Were there Facebook Marketplace pictures too good?
