A Prairie du Chien man is awaiting a child enticement charge following his arrest earlier this month.

Crawford County Sheriff Dale McCullick said that on June 1, they began an investigation into an incident in the Town of Prairie du Chien. The report said an adult male lured a 14-year-old juvenile into the back of a white cargo van on County Road K.

The investigation led to the arrest of 48-year-old Shawn Levock.

He is a lifetime registrant for the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry. He was convicted in January 1996 in La Crosse County on a charge of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child.

The sheriff stated that Levock lured the youth into the van with the intent of having sex with the juvenile.

Instead, the teen was able to get out of the van without being physically or sexually assaulted.

As of Monday afternoon, Levock is in the Crawford County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.

No court date is set.
