As I See It
The US Army turns 250

Tomorrow part of the country celebrates the 250th year of the US Army.
I use the word part because, well, that’s where we’re at right now as a country. There isn’t as much togetherness as we’ve experienced in the past. Not everyone supports the military. I understand that perspective and respect your thoughts on the subject.
As a journalist, I’ve covered a number of stories about the military such as twice a week trips for several months out to Fort McCoy during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. I met a lot of good, honorable people then and through the years.
I admire their dedication, courage, and sacrifice-not just them but their families, too, to help protect this land.
This includes my own family-my father served-and lost a brother who was in the Army. Other family members have served in the past or are still serving.
I respect everyone who puts on the uniform.
Thank you to everyone in the US Army, then and now, for your service.
As I see it, I’m Kevin Millard
