Wildfire smoke still causing air quality issues

Published

on

Canadian wildfire smoke continues to affect air quality in western Wisconsin and southeastern Minnesota.

Both the Wisconsin DNR and Minnesota Pollution Control Agency issued air quality alerts for the region. They’re in effect until noon Wednesday.

The alerts are cautioning people who suffer from conditions such as lung disease, asthma, and heart disease, to use caution when spending time outdoors.

The recommendation extends to children and older adults, too.

They suggest limiting prolonged exertion or limiting activities outdoors. People experiencing symptoms should go indoors. Keep windows closed to reduce smoke from getting indoors.
