We know bird migrate, but two pigeons took it to another level last weekend.

Now, pigeons — by nature — don’t migrate, but these two hitched a ride, delaying a flight out of Minneapolis to Madison, twice.

The pigeons checked their bags for the flight leaving Minneapolis on Saturday.

But they didn’t get far. Before the jet could take flight, the birds did so inside the cabin, causing it to return to the gate, twice.

One bird was caught by the grounds crew, while a passenger stepped up to catch the second pigeon in his jacket as it was flying down the aisle.

In all, the flight was delayed 56 minutes.

As for the birds themselves, it’s unclear. Delta said they were safely removed from the aircraft. But not if they were freed.
