Next week will mark two years since Madeline Kingsbury’s body was found in southern Minnesota.

Fravel

Adam Fravel, the father of Kingsbury’s young children, was convicted of her murder and is now in prison. But there’s unfinished business in the case, involving those children.

A trial had been scheduled for this week in Winona, to determine which grandparents might be allowed custody or visitation rights for Kingsbury’s children.

Minnesota state court officials, however, told WIZM the trial was cancelled and a proposed settlement may be approved by the courts in the near future.

Kingsbury disappeared in March of 2023, and was found dead weeks later. Fravel was arrested shortly after the body was found. He was convicted at a southern Minnesota trial last fall.

Fravel reportedly was transported from prison to the Winona jail this week, for the scheduled custody trial.
