La Crosse FD responds to apartment fire

One tenant is temporarily displaced after a fire Friday afternoon at an apartment building in La Crosse.

Firefighters went to 2415 Cass Street at 2:23 p.m. for the fire in a third story apartment.

As the fire was getting extinguished, firefighters searched the floor for potential victims according to Fire Chief Jeff Schott.

The fire was contained to a bedroom in one of the apartments.

One person was treated at the scene by department emergency medical staff and released.

All the other residents safely evacuated.

What caused the fire remains under investigation.
