37-year-old motorcyclist dies after weekend crash in Blair-Taylor area

Jackson County is reporting its second fatal traffic accident of the year.

A 67-year-old motorcycle rider from Taylor, Wis., was injured in a crash last week, on a county road south of Taylor and Blair.

The sheriff’s office learned Tuesday that rider Gary Lien had died sometime after being taken to a hospital for treatment.

Officers said the highway where the incident occurred was open to the public, but was under construction. Investigators believe Lien was not wearing a helmet.

Lien apparently lost control of his cycle on Jackson County Road N on May 9.

Deputies found Lien and his motorcycle at the crash scene. He was taken by helicopter to a hospital.
