Students in the Sparta school district have the day off today due to a technical issue.

The district posted on its Facebook page that schools are closed on Tuesday due to a cut fiber optic line used for its phones and internet service.

Construction work unrelated to the district on Monday damaged the line.

Repairs wouldn’t be complete until after the start of the school day.

In the post, the district said,

Once the update is released, we’ll update this story.
