Laura Kubes says bloom season has begun at Hidden Springs Peony Farm

Hidden Springs Peony Farm — the region’s own “fields of flowers” — is about to burst into bloom. Co-owner Laura Kubes joined La Crosse Talk to invite visitors to come take in the sights and scents of 16,000 blooming peonies.
La Crosse Talk airs weekdays at 6-8 a.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). Find all the podcasts here or subscribe to La Crosse Talk wherever you get your podcasts.
Kubes and her husband, Bryan, care for over 600 varieties on their 2.5-acre farm just north of Spring Grove, Minn. (map) They welcome guests to stroll the fields, snap photos, or even bring a blanket for a picnic.
We talk about what it’s like owning a flower farm, future plans and how
Peak bloom runs from Memorial Day to Father’s Day, with special picnic events planned for May 31, June 7, and June 14. Alongside peonies (available now or for fall planting), the farm also offers other plants and trees for sale.
