2 rescued from La Crosse house fire

Two people needed rescuing from a house fire early Thursday morning in La Crosse.

La Crosse Fire Department Battalion Chief Matthew Buley said they got called to the home in the 1000 block of Losey Boulevard South around 1:25 a.m.

When they got there, they found two people on the second story of the home needed rescue as heavy fire was visible.

Crews quickly got the pair from the home without any injuries. All four pets were safely rescued.

A total of eight vehicles and 18 firefighters came to the scene.

Chief Buley said the home had moderate fire and heavy smoke damage.

Department investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
