La Crosse council president Dickinson on city administrator, WI DOT decisions and traffic

We get to know new La Crosse City Council President — or as her neighbors call her, “Madam President” — Tamara Dickinson, in the WIZM studio.
La Crosse Talk airs weekdays at 6-8 a.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). Find all the podcasts here or subscribe to La Crosse Talk wherever you get your podcasts.
Dickinson helps preview the upcoming city council meeting, which includes the potential vote on hiring a city administrator or to delay it some more so a working group can do more study.
We also discuss just what exactly it means to “vacation” a street, in regards to some potential 12th Street North housing projects the council could vote on.
When it comes to traffic, Dickinson talks about a Wisconsin DOT plan to close north side streets due to railroad crossings — in which the city council could vote to formally protest — plus we vent about Highway 16 construction and if there will be any pauses there with the WIAA state track and field meet coming a month from now.
The city council will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday. The agenda, which is not posted yet, will show up on the city’s legistar page soon.
