La Crosse School District plans info meeting on new school at Hogan site

The School District of La Crosse wants to provide the latest information on plans for a new school building at the Hogan Administrative site, which was built in 1899.

A community engagement session will happen from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 7 at the Hogan Administrative Center (map).

During the session, designers of the new school, Bray Architects, plan to talk about the building’s layout.

There’s also time for people to ask questions and give input on the project.

A $53.5 million referendum vote that passed last November calls for tearing down the current building on the Hogan site and constructing a new school.

Once built, students from Emerson and Spence elementary schools would move into the new building, as part of the district’s consolidation program.

The other half of that referendum is to update State Road Elementary with eight new classrooms and a new gymnasium, plus close Hintgen Elementary.

This is the second public meeting at Hogan on the plans.
