Cole is turned down for reduced bond in attempted murder at La Crosse storage unit

No bond reduction for Freeman Cole, who’s accused of attempted murder in the attack of a woman at a La Crosse storage unit two years ago.
In a letter to court officials, Cole proclaims his innocence, and argues that his rights have been violated, since his arrest in late 2023.

Only one current inmate has been in the La Crosse County jail longer than Cole. His $500,000 bond was not lowered, during a hearing on Tuesday. Cole’s most recent defense attorney withdrew from the case two months ago, and he has suggested he could defend himself at a trial, which has not been scheduled.
Cole is accused of attempting to strangle a woman in a storage unit near Mormon Coulee Road in 2023. Witnesses interrupted the attack. Cole fled and was arrested out of state. In a letter filed with the court, Cole says he’s innocent, and claims his rights have been “violated in every way.”

Let him represent himself , he has the right . It will be a disaster and appealed but he can do that from prison if found guilty. Enough of playing games with these guys . If you haven’t noticed it makes the courts look like a joke.
