A head-on collision on Saturday leads to the arrest of an Arcadia man on an OWI charge.

Elmer Alberto Barreda, 34, was taken into custody after the crash early Saturday afternoon on Saddle Drive in Arcadia. He was arrested on a charge of OWI 1st Offense causing injury.

A Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office report said that Barreda was headed west when his vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane and hit a Jeep Grand Cherokee head-on.

The people in the Jeep had non-life-threatening injuries. They were taken to Tri-County Hospital for treatment.

The sheriff’s office said speed was also a factor in the crash.
