Winter weather often leads to school cancellations in the midwest, but bad springtime weather caused problems Monday for the La Crosse School Districts.

The threat of storm activity led the district cancelling the school board reorganizational meeting planned for the evening, so new members will have to wait another week to start their terms.

Merideth Garcia, Jeff Jackson, and Molly Fuchs were scheduled to be sworn at the special board meeting, which is always scheduled a few weeks after the spring election.

Incumbent Garcia and the two new members will now be sworn at 5:30 p.m. May 5, just before the first regularly scheduled 6 p.m. meeting for the month.

The special meeting will also include election of school board officers for the coming year, including a new president.
