Delivery to jail leads to Viroqua man’s arrest

A delivery to the Monroe County Jail ended up with a stay behind bars instead for the delivery driver.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested Zechariah Borden, a contracted Aramark food services driver, after he was seen giving an inmate a package.
Borden was at the jail making a delivery on Thursday, April 24.

A security camera showed him giving a package to inmate Nichols Hage, who was helping with taking in the delivery.
Corrections officers got everyone separated and found the package. It contained methamphetamine.
Borden was arrested on charges of possession and delivery of methamphetamine and delivering illegal articles to an inmate.
He appeared in Monroe County Circuit Court for a hearing on Monday afternoon. Judge Mark Goodman give Borden a $1,200 cash bond.
Among the conditions of the bond, Borden can’t have any contact with Hage or the jail unless lawfully ordered to do so.
Hage was jailed on a charge of 1st Degree Reckless Homicide in the death of a Tomah man in 2023.
New charges were filed on Monday against Hage for possession of an illegal article in the jail and possession of methamphetamine.
