With NFL draft in Green Bay, why isn’t the MLB, NBA hitting the road

The NFL draft begins Thursday. Hosted in Green Bay — the NFL’s smallest market.
Word is it’s going to bring $90 million in economic impact across Wisconsin, including $20 million in Green Bay alone.
Around 250,000 are estimated to visit the city for the draft.
If those numbers are true, it makes you wonder why the other leagues aren’t doing this better.
The NBA holds its draft in New York. So, no road show. No showcasing its league around the country.
Meanwhile, the MLB, you wouldn’t even know they had a draft.
First, it’s 20 rounds long — it used to be 40. Second, baseballers really don’t make a giant impact as rookies, so there’s not as much hype around something like a first-round pick.
But the idea of not doing something that could bring exposure to your league and benefit to fans across different states seems a little crazy.
What else do they have to do? These are billion-dollar businesses. Have your draft in these MLB and NBA cities.

The NBA draft is two rounds so a lot smaller. The baseball draft is too long. In addition, a tepid response to baseball or basketball trying this would be viewed poorly.
Why chance it
