Horticulture students hosting plant sale Thursday at Western Tech

Jordan Shaffer and Cam Tschanz in the WIZM studio for La Crosse Talk promoting Thursday’s plant sale at Western Technical College.
Shaffer and Tschanz are botany students at WTC and are helping organize the Landscape and Horticulture Club’s spring sale from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Horticulture Education Center (map).
La Crosse Talk airs weekdays at 6-8 a.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). Find all the podcasts here or subscribe to La Crosse Talk wherever you get your podcasts.
Not only will folks be able to get everything from indoor to outdoor plants, but the two also talk about some of the more unique things in the greenhouse, including what’s now a couple of different banana trees.
The sale will include veggie starters, herbs, annuals, perennials and houseplants. Plus, for $5 people can bring in a planter and the students will provide potting mix, fertilizer and guidance.
Aside from the plant sale, we also talk about where Schaffer and Tschanz would like to take their interests in plants after graduation.
