New mayor, city council members to be sworn in at La Crosse City Hall; county board also prepares for new year

Two government groups in La Crosse have big meetings planned Tuesday.
Newly-elected mayor Shaundel Washington-Spivey will be sworn at 4 p.m., as the La Crosse city council reorganizes following the April election.
Besides the change in the mayor’s office, five new council members will take office, along with three incumbents returning for new terms.

At 6 p.m., the La Crosse County Board will have its yearly organizational meeting.
County supervisors were not on the spring ballot.
Their seats will all be at stake in the April 2026 election.
However, board officials will be chosen for the next 12 months.
Tina Tryggestad has served as board chair for the past year.
