Wisconsin keep demanding campaign finance reform

As I See It

Elections are over. At least for awhile. La Crosse swears in a new mayor — Shaundel Washington-Spivey — next week.

Six members — four rookies — of the La Crosse City Council will be sworn in, as well.

Then, the next week, the La Crosse School Board swears in its three new members — through two of those have been on the board already.

And, while all of those elections seemed to happen relatively smooth, statewide was kind of a bleep show. And we can blame the state Legislature and governor for some of that.

While there’s breaking news every day with the Trump administration and nobody can focus on any one thing for more than two days — remember the Pete Hegseth “war plans,” Signal app texting controversy? Me either. — Wisconsin residents should bombard their state reps on campaign finance reform until something is done.

Having $100 million spent on a Wisconsin Supreme Court race, which followed a $50 million court race two years before that isn’t health. And we should demand that doesn’t happen again. Because there are supreme court races on the ballot EVERY YEAR until 2028 — not to mention all the other elections.

So, as Wisconsin residents, ya’ll should keep demanding campaign finance reform.

As I see it, I’m Rick Solem.

I thought John McCain and his Wisconsin bud Russ Feingold solved all that years go, Solem, when they mouthed the identical things you have.
