More flooding is a possibility along the Black River on Wednesday.

On Monday, a portion of the river near Black River Falls was under a flood warning that has since expired.

As the water continues to move downstream, forecasters with the National Weather Service said that there’s a Flood Watch near Galesville for Wednesday evening into early Thursday afternoon.

As of Tuesday morning, the river was about three and a half feet below flood stage of 12 feet.

Forecasts, though, say it may reach that on Wednesday evening.

If that happens, flooding will affect mostly farm fields and marsh land.

County Road VV in the southern part of the county may flood due to the higher water.

The Black River is causing some minor flooding in the Black River Falls area.

The National Weather Service said that the river is nearly a foot over flood stage as of 6 a.m. Monday morning.

It is expected to crest at 48 feet, or one foot over flood stage, sometime Monday afternoon.

The forecast calls for river to drop below flood stage early Tuesday morning.

With the flooding over 47 feet, the weather service said that some rural roads may begin to flood.
