What you need to vote Tuesday

It’s a busy election day in Wisconsin Tuesday.

The polls open at 7 a.m. for the spring election and close at 8 p.m.

Coulee Region races featured include several school referendums, along with school board races.

Voters are also deciding who represents them on town boards and city councils.

For La Crosse residents, who is going to be the city’s next mayor.

Statewide, voters are choosing a new Wisconsin Supreme Court justice, the state’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, and answering a referendum question on voter ID.

If you live in La Crosse County, two judicial candidates are also on the ballot for Branch 1 of the circuit court.

Anyone voting needs a photo ID.

Aside from a driver’s license, the Wisconsin Elections Commission said other forms include a military or student ID.

While having a federally compliant REAL ID card will work, it said that isn’t required to vote.

The commission’s website has ID requirements details. Click here to see them.

People can register at each polling location as long as they have proof of residence.

To check whether you have the acceptable documents, visit the City Clerk’s website to check on what documents are accepted or call the City Clerk’s Office at 608-789-7510.
