In-Person Absentee Voting starts Tuesday in La Crosse

The City of La Crosse starts in-person absentee voting on Tuesday, March 18 for the April 1 Spring Election.

Tuesday is the first day allowed by law where people can vote in person absentee. The final day is Friday, March 28, four days before Election Day.

The city has four locations where residents can cast a ballot.

According to the chart below, the places have various times and days when they’re open.

Before voting absentee, you must be registered. That can be done at each location according to the City Clerk’s Office.

For people requesting a mail-in absentee ballot, the clerk’s office said those are being mailed out on Tuesday, March 11 to votes who have a request on file.

You can request an absentee ballot by mail at myvote.wi.gov.  The deadline to request a ballot by mail is Thursday, March 27.

The MyVoteWI website also has information on paperwork you’ll need to register to vote, finding a polling place, and how to track your absentee ballot.

You can also find out what’s on your ballot for April 1.

For La Crosse residents, there are local races for mayor, several city council seats, school board, and Circuit Court Judge.

Two statewide contests that have generated a lot of interest are being decided voters April 1-Supreme Court Justice and State Superintendent.
