Bond set at $100K cash for north side La Crosse shooting suspect

One of the three people arrested for their role in a shooting last weekend that injured one person appeared in court on Friday afternoon.

Jaysen Moran, 19, was arrested Thursday morning by La Crosse Police while officers also arrested a 13-year-old who they say was involved in the shooting. A 16-year-old was taken into custody the day before.

One person had non life-threatening injuries after being shot in the 1200 block of Logan Street around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

All three suspects are held on a charge of Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide.

Moran appeared in a La Crosse County courtroom on Friday afternoon.

He received a $100,000 cash bond at the hearing.

During discussions over bond, prosecutors said the victim, a 17-year-old, was shot at close range.

Police haven’t said what led to the shooting although more information should become available next week when a criminal complaint is filed in the case.

They did say Thursday that they believed the shooting was an isolated incident.
