Rural Viroqua man arrested on multiple drug charges

Drug charges involving methamphetamine are pending for a rural Viroqua man arrested on Friday by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Roy Torgerson said around 9 a.m., they searched a home on Nelson Road in the Town of Franklin southwest of Viroqua.

Drugs, paraphernalia, and a firearm were seized by deputies.

They arrested Jon Fanta, 60, on seven charges including two counts of manufacture/deliver methamphetamine 10-50 grams, manufacture/deliver methamphetamine 3-10 grams, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine 10-50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintain a drug trafficking place, and felon in possession of a firearm.

Fanta is currently in the Vernon County Jail. He has a bond hearing on Monday (3/3) afternoon.
