Elon’s accomplishments list — isn’t this done already?

As I See It

Over the past weekend, federal employees got an email that told them to reply with five things they accomplished at work last week. If they didn’t reply, Elon Musk said it would be taken as a sign of resignation from their job.

The email generated a lot of buzz both for and against it. Pushback is happening on both sides, too, with more lawsuits bound to follow.

My take is this: Isn’t this done in one form or another already?

If this is allowed to go through, who is going to read these millions of replies? Do we need another government organization created to check that each person responded accurately? And who would monitor that new organization to make sure they’re doing their jobs?

Isn’t this the type of bureaucratic boondoggle that the current administration is being so vocal about getting rid of?

While finding waste in government is something we should all be concerned about, having people spend part of their time writing what is essentially a pointless email won’t solve the problem.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to finish my TPS report to the boss.

As I see it, I’m Kevin Millard.

    Kevin, my opinion
You should spend your time helping the morning program with
Topics that fit Mikes audience. Get Rick helper to cut down rambling . Eliminate replays for fillers . Get rid of Sign Pro ads.Eliminate 5 year old PM show promos.
    Freshen up morning news casts.

WIZM is too busy manufacturing an anti-trump message about t-shirts, of all things, and has no time to be responsible to the community.

Still waiting for the news article reporting on Dem Gov Evers actual proposal to change the term “mother” to “inseminated person” in state law. Evers was once state superintendent in charge of public schools. Disgusting.

I agree that the AM show is going down hill. So many shows have replay of a previously taped conversation that Rick had from his PM show. It is a total shame as I Remember that Mike Hayes would always be fair. He never “framed” conversation with guests like Rick dies, listen to how Rick always critiques “Republicans”.

Having the spotlight on government employees is a good thing, and long overdue. Because of the way departments are structured, many, in effect, have little supervision and having them outline what they did last week is a good exercise in work habits, something many of them are short on.
Good employees are only too eager to show the boss what they’ve been doing. Poor employees hide the facts, daily.
When you’ve had the success Elon Musk has had, you can be critical of him.

Trump won the popular vote. Therefore, a federal employee statistically was more likely to have voted for him.

Now those very people that voted for this current administration are losing their jobs due to their votes. I’d like to call it ‘Thanks for taking one for the team :)’

Young man: Federal employees don’t vote for Republicans.

True, the major government employee unions AFSCME, AFGE and the NEA were “all in on Kamala,” to use their words.

If you don’t think republican federal employees haven’t been laid off, you should be reading some of the conservative forums…

    I agree with Eric.
No one will ever replace Mike Hayes but are they even trying?
We used to have two different opinions AM and PM shows.
All we get now is liberal Rick who has no intention of doing his homework to see both viewpoints.
There is fraud and corruption in both parties, but you have to be able to call someone out in your own party when an issue arises, not stick your head in the sand and follow party lines.

Apparently we are to believe that asking “what did you do last week” is a question too hot to handle for most government employees? Nonsense.

It is reported a “no response” to the request will be interpreted as either “I resign” or “I was never here to begin with” and result in a reduction in headcount.

The real outrage is that our administrative and congressional government has been so out of control as to make this necessary.

And I agree with Eric and Come On Man comments, above.

My Insurance agent tells me that he is one of 7 agents who report to a District Manager. It’s a larger national firm and the 7 agents hold a conference call with the DM Monday mornings at 9 am. A sales report outlining each reps activities the prior week is due to the DM via fax by 8:30 am that same Monday.
I asked what happens if a sales report isn’t received by 8:30 am?
He said you don’t work there anymore.

Starbucks just announced they are laying off employees:
Starbucks has announced the elimination of 1,100 corporate roles as part of a restructuring initiative aimed at simplifying its operations.
If Starbucks wants to streamline their company, why can’t we do the same with the federal government?
You see protests on the nightly news about all the poor government employees who are facing losing their jobs but when it happens in the private sector no one sheds a tear.
    Interesting.

I would venture to say that the Department of Government Efficiency has identified a whole bunch of email accounts of government employees that have NOT logged in to their emails for a long period of time. I might also guess that these employees are still recovering paychecks. By requesting a reply with CC to their supervisor will identify if these people should or shouldn’t be on the payroll. In regard to the 5 bullet points, it should not be difficult. In private industry there are unter shift reports, inventory items, order, customer service, answer emails, clock in, department meetinf, etc. Again this is similar to the S.S.checks going out to many people over 110 years old. Why wouldn’t anyone want to improve on elimination of waste? Heck in our personal life if we had an “auto payment” coming out monthly for a service we didn’t have for 3 years, each of us without doubt would be furious. Reckless spending and no oversight led up to this. This administration is so transparent that people are shocked. Almost daily Presidential reports compared to the last administration where we never heard from them. Heck I remember a lot of my coworkers saying ” who is running the country”?
